Privacy Policy

Scaling Human builds Hardware + AI tools that extend human perception and capability. This policy covers the Food Scanner and Glasshole iOS apps.

Summary

We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising trackers. The apps do not require an account.

Food Scanner’s default Local iPhone Vision mode runs on device. Glasshole supports Apple Intelligence on compatible devices and runs on device when that provider is selected. If you choose a third-party, local-network, or custom AI provider, the app sends the content needed for your request to that provider using the endpoint and API key you configure.

Food Scanner

Food Scanner analyzes food images and generates estimated nutrition overlays. Scan history is stored locally on your device. If you choose Save to Photos, the app saves the generated result image to your photo library.

When Local iPhone Vision is selected, food images are classified on device and quick nutrition estimates are generated on device from those labels. When a third-party, local-network, or custom provider is selected, food images are sent to that provider for analysis.

Nutrition values are AI estimates for general information only and are not medical advice.

Glasshole

Glasshole records audio only when you start a session. On-device speech recognition converts that audio into text for summarization and fact-checking. Audio recordings are not saved. Session history is stored locally on your device.

Use the app only with the consent of everyone being recorded and in compliance with local laws and regulations where you use it.

When Apple Intelligence is selected on a compatible device, processing runs on device. When a third-party, local-network, or custom provider is selected, transcripts are sent to that provider for summarization and fact-checking.

AI fact-check results can be wrong and should not be treated as authoritative.

Google Glass Explorer Edition Companion Apps

The Google Glass Explorer Edition (Google Glass XE) companion apps are distributed from GitHub. They connect to the iOS apps over your local Wi-Fi or iPhone Personal Hotspot. The Food Scanner companion uses the Google Glass XE camera to send food images to the iOS app. The Glasshole companion sends activation and stop gestures and displays results from the iOS app.

API Keys

If you configure a third-party AI provider, API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
